About the event
Recharge yourself in tranquil woodland surroundings. Pause, be present and let your senses awaken. Feel calm and restored as nature relaxes your mind, boosts your physical body and helps you to embrace your inner-self.
We will focus on our senses while being anchored and supported by nature to find that place of peace. Tapping into the energy of the Autumn Equinox through guided meditation, we will clear the way for our intuition and our best intentions for ourselves as we move into a more restful period, letting go of old energies and setting down our seeds.
What to Expect:
Cacao and fire ceremony: We will begin our morning with a delicious cup of cacao around the fire circle. Cacao is the raw, unprocessed version of chocolate, grown in the northern regions of South America. There are many physical and metaphysical benefits of cacao and when sourced thoughtfully, prepared ceremonially and enjoyed with intention, cacao is a potent energetic medicine which opens your heartspace and gives you a feeling of bliss. (*please see below for physical benefits and contraindications).
Guided Meditation: A calming meditation will help us to centre and ground ourselves within the trees and to help us to let go of what isn't serving us anymore. So that we can continue our walk in nature, in synchrony with the trees shedding their leaves - releasing old energies and freeing space to sow and nurture new seeds this coming season.
Forest Bathing - Mindful Walk & Nature Connection: We'll take a leisurely stroll through the forest, feeling the soft ground beneath our feet and breathing in the fresh air, engaging in gentle sensory activities, helping our minds to relax and allowing you establish a deeper connection with the natural surroundings.
Breathwork - We'll sit together and breathe consciously into our heartspace, in sychronicity with the trees around us to uplift and connect us.
Campfire and snack - Back to the campfire for some delicious plant based food (to be confirmed) and to share our experiences.
Who can attend?
Over 18 years only. All sexes are welcome. We will be walking slowly and stopping frequently, however please ensure you are fit enough to be outside and moving for 3 hours on uneven ground and sitting on wooden logs and benches... I do provide weatherproof sit mats. If you have any questions about accessibility please do get in touch.
The Venue:
The event will take place in and around woodland at Whittle Dene north of Ovingham village

Comfortable Clothing: Wear weather-appropriate clothes and comfortable, sturdy shoes.

About Laura
I’ve worked in environment and conservation with a focus on community engagement and health and wellbeing for 20 years. I have always been aware and passionate about the deep benefits of being connected to nature, in mind, body, spirit and emotion. We are nature, and I truly believe that the more we surrender to being, trusting and learning in nature, the more complete and happier we will feel.
I love to practice breathwork, yoga and mindfulness in nature as part of my own healing journey, which has really ramped up in the last couple of years as I have started to face and shed light on my shadows and darker places within myself. I'm passionate about holding spaces for groups of people and individuals, indoors and outdoors to reap the many levels of benefits to connecting with the power of nature and the breath.
I’m a Forest Bathing practitioner accredited by the Complimentary Medical Association and a Breathwork Facilitator, currently working towards my teaching qualification accredited by the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance.
*Cacao Benefits and Contraindications - The physical benefits include regulated blood pressure, promoting health gut, reduce feelings of fatigue.. (if you are on any antidepressents, especially MAOI's or SSRI's it is recomended you consult with your doctor before drinking cacao as it can raise seritonin levels). If you are unable to drink cacao, I can make an equally delicious chocolate alternative if you let me know when you book.
