About the event

At this event, a group of volunteers for Woodland Trust and Whittle Dene CIC will share their findings and photographs gathered as part of a project to document Whittle Dene's history.

We invite you to bring along your own memories, photos or historical information about Whittle Dene. Perhaps you played in the abandoned mill as a child, or have family connections to someone who once lived in the mill. Maybe you have historic photos of the cabins at Whittle Dene, or information about when the cabins were built and why. We would love to record your stories on the day. Local people are the experts, so we want to hear from you!

You are also welcome to simply come along and meet members of Whittle Dene CIC as well as Woodland Trust volunteers, find out more about us and enjoy some complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.

The event is free, but please register here so we know how many people to expect.

There will be a presentation delivered by volunteers at 1.45pm, followed by an open discussion and drop-in session for the rest of the afternoon. Feel free to stop by anytime between 1.30pm and 4.30pm, and leave at any point
