Join the Whittle Dene Coppicing Team - Practical Events Coming Up

You are invited to join our practical coppicing events at Whittle Dene woods. The events will be led by Mark Shipperlee from Living Woods North East CIC.

Date and time

Two events will take place on:

Saturday 29th January and Wednesday 9th February 2022, meeting at Whittle Mill at 10am.

What to bring

You are required to bring your own lunch and refreshments, good working clothes and suitable footwear. You may bring your own tools (loppers, pruning saw, bow saw, billhook, etc.), however all equipment will be provided.

What we will do

We will coppice the hazel stools in the Woodland Trust area of Whittle Dene woodland, and mainly use the cut material to protect the stools against deer damage.

Register

We hope that you can make it - you must register as places are limited to 12 participants for each event.

Register by emailing mark@shipperlee.co.uk stating your preferred date/s.

Participants learn about charcoal burning at a previous training event at Horsley Woods
